What happens when you message us
  1. A person answers. Not a bot. We reply as fast as we humanly can — this is run by volunteers who have been where you are, so it may not be instant, but it will be real.
  2. They'll ask what's happening. Bring whatever you have — the bloodwork, the ultrasound, the PCR report, the vet's words. Photos of reports are fine. Nothing is too messy.
  3. They've been where you are. Many of the people answering are here because someone did this for them.
  4. You'll get straight answers. Including the ones you don't want. We won't tell you it'll definitely be fine, because we don't know — and anyone who says they do is selling something.

Bring this to the conversation

  • Bloodwork — CBC and biochemistry. Photos are fine.
  • Any ultrasound or X-ray report
  • Any PCR result — and, crucially, what sample it was run on
  • What the vet said, in their words
  • What treatment (if any) has started, and at what dose
While you're waiting

Four things worth knowing tonight

1. A blood PCR is not a diagnosis. Positive or negative. If that's all you've got, you don't yet have an answer.
2. An FCoV titre is not a FIP test. It never was.
3. FIP is curable. Not managed — cured. 84 days of treatment, 84 days of observation.
4. Anyone promising a 30-day cure is selling you a calendar, not a medicine.
